claro walnut is a north american species native to the pacific northwest. warm greys, purples, and browns constitute the tonal range of this material. the material is distinguished from it’s more common eastern cousin, black walnut, by a more dramatic, more variegated presentation. skram finishes claro walnut with oil-based sealer coats to enhance the luster followed by multiple clear topcoats of commercial grade, non-toxic polyurethane. the finish is open-grained and the sheen is flat.
